I don’t care how pretty your mix looks on paper — if it can’t impress the Hellbeast, it’s not ready. This RDA doesn’t sugarcoat your top notes or bury your mistakes in cotton. It tells you, plain and brutal, whether your recipe is a banger or a bleating failure.

It’s this precision — this flavour transparency — that makes it irreplaceable for my DIY testing. I’ve tried other flavour RDAs, but none match its consistency and clarity. The Hellbeast gives you everything — even the off notes you were hoping to hide.

Airflow: Precision-Controlled Chaos

With 72 airflow holes (yes, seventy-two), all angled to punch your coils right in the vaporzone, the Hellbeast isn’t subtle. But it is tunable. I usually shut down the top row except for two holes, giving me a warmer, slightly restricted hit with maximum detail.

Want it wide open and airy? It’ll cloud. Want it dialled in like a sniper shot? You can do that too.

The knurled airflow ring is easy to grip, even with juice-covered fingers, and the stepped airflow design gives you granular control over how your vape hits.

Build Deck: Simple, Smart, and Made for Testers

The quad post deck is perfect for symmetrical coil placement. I run counterclockwise Ni80 quad-core fused Claptons (leg length 5mm), and the fit is just right. The screws grip tight, and positioning over the angled airflow is effortless once you know the layout.

Wicking is quick and painless — even with all the rewicking I do when testing flavours, it never feels like a chore. That’s a rare thing these days.

The squonk performance is also bang on. That 45° feed shoots juice straight at the coils with no pooling or gurgling. It’s efficient, clean, and just works.

A Face Only a Goat Could Love

Look, I love a good aesthetic. And the matte black chassis with that silver skull pairs beautifully with my White Devil MVV. It’s goth, it’s angry, and it looks like it vapes pure hate. I approve.

But the looks aren’t why I use it. It’s what’s inside that counts.

Still the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Testers)

The Hellbeast may be discontinued — and shame on Hellvape for that — but it’s still my daily driver for DIY testing. It’s the only RDA I trust to give me the full flavour story, warts and all. If I’m mixing something new, this is the judge, jury, and executioner. And when it says a mix is ready, I believe it.

Old Goat’s Hellbeast Build (5mm Legs, Dual Alien Claptons)

Disassemble and clean the deck.

Trim coil legs to 5mm.

Drop 'em into the quad posts — works great for counterclockwise coils.

Align coils right above the angled airflow.

Dry fire and strum to remove hot spots.

Thread in your cotton (snug, not tight).

Trim and fluff your wicks to rest above the juice well.

Prime, assemble, and adjust airflow.
