Loved and respected the man immensely! Sitting on his porch of a morning, he told me that he'd not seen his metals in 48 years!
I called our local congressman who had something to do with the Veterans National Archives.
One day he knocked on my door. Went out and he was wearing his sailors coat pinned with his metals! Gave me a salute, we hugged and we tried to hide the tears in out eyes.
