The Blaze RDA by ThunderCloud Creations & Mike Vapes: The New King of Flavour!

Old Goat

Administrator
Alright, vape addicts and flavour chasers, your Old Goat is back, and I’ve got something truly special to talk about today: the Blaze RDA by ThunderCloud Creations, a glorious collaboration with the one and only Mike Vapes. This isn’t just another dual coil RDA—it’s a serious contender for the flavour crown, and I don’t say that lightly.

You see, for what feels like eons, my go-to flavour banger has been the Hellvape Hellbeast RDA, and that thing has served me loyally through thick and thin (read my full Hellbeast review here). It’s been the gold standard in my setup for flavour testing. But now? Well… the Blaze has charged in horns-first and thrown down a serious challenge. Spoiler: it just might be the new champ.

First Impressions & Unboxing: Classy, Premium, and Goat-Approved

From the moment you unbox the Blaze RDA, you know this isn’t your average dripper. It arrives in a premium metal case, which gives it the kind of unboxing flair usually reserved for fancy watches and secret agent gadgets. Inside, everything is neatly laid out — a beauty ring, a 510 stand, coils, coil trimmer, BF pin, spare parts, tools… everything but a coffee and a pat on the back. This thing means business.
The RDA itself is crafted from aluminum and stainless steel, giving it durability and that solid, satisfying weight in the hand. It looks as good as it vapes, and it fits beautifully on most mods thanks to its 24mm/25mm footprint. ThunderCloud Creations even included a 24mm beauty ring, because we like our clouds thick and our setups pretty.

It comes in several colours too — Gunmetal, Matte Black, Pink, Purple — and while the one I got is a classy matte black, I can already hear the mod-matchers frothing at the mouth.

The Build Deck: Forgiving and Flavour-Focused

This is where the Blaze starts to show just how well thought-out it really is. You get a spacious 13.5mm postless dual coil build deck that’s easy to build on even if you’re all thumbs. It supports both dual and single coil setups, but let’s be real — if you’re getting this RDA, you’re not going single coil.

The deck is forgiving. Leads slot in cleanly, the screws grab well, and wicking is a dream. No weird quirks or tools needed — just good, clean building. For a flavour-first RDA, that’s critical.

Airflow & Flavour: Honeycomb Perfection

Ah yes, airflow. The lifeblood of any good RDA. And here, the Blaze absolutely nails it. The airflow comes from 20 honeycomb holes — 10 on each side — and is fully adjustable. This recurve-style airflow surrounds the coils in a perfect storm of smooth, even distribution. The result? Flavour for days.

Now, let’s talk side-by-side testing. I pitted the Blaze directly against my beloved Hellbeast RDA. Same build, same cotton, same juice (Creamageddon Custard, if you're wondering — it’s a flavour bomb). Blind taste tests, even. The verdict? I couldn’t tell the difference. That’s how good the Blaze is. Flavour delivery is top tier, dense, rich, and incredibly satisfying.
I even dragged in a few other RDAs from the shelf and compared. Let’s just say, some of those are headed for retirement.

Drip Tips and Aesthetics: Where’s the Drama?

Here’s my one real complaint — and it’s barely a grumble. The Blaze comes with a nice 810 drip tip. It’s black. It works. It’s fine. But the original Blaze RDAs had some stunning drip tips with swirls of red, black, and gold that made your setup pop. This one? Just a bit… meh. Give me back my fancy tip, ThunderCloud!

Still, this feels like I’m nitpicking. And you know what? I am. But that’s what I do. I’m the Old Goat, not the Old Apologist.

Squonk-Ready & Feature Rich

This thing isn’t just for drippers — it’s squonk-ready, with a BF pin included. That’s great news for bottom-feeders (you know who you are). The juice well is deep enough to handle aggressive squonking or overzealous dripping. You can get solid runtime without worry.

The package also includes a 510 stand, a coil leg trimmer, and two 3-core fused Claptons (which I used and liked, though they don’t crackle like my aliens). It’s just a thoughtfully packed kit — no nonsense, no filler.

The One Complaint I Can’t Let Go

Now, here’s the thing — I’m uncomfortable. Deeply uncomfortable. Because I’ve spent days with this RDA, testing it every way I know how, and I still haven’t found anything worth properly complaining about. That’s unsettling. I’m a goat, not a golden retriever. I expect to find flaws. I live for finding flaws. And yet… here I am, grumbling about the lack of grumbles. Either the Blaze is just that good, or ThunderCloud Creations slipped something into my juice. I don’t trust it. But I’m still using it every day.

Verdict: The Blaze Has Earned Its Spot

The Blaze RDA isn’t just hype. It’s the real deal. From the premium unboxing to the flavour-rich performance, it delivers across the board. It’s so user-friendly that even a clumsy goat like me can slap in a build and be vaping in minutes. It doesn’t just rival the Hellbeast RDA — it matches it in flavour and beats it in user experience.

I’m not retiring the Hellbeast entirely — I still use it for flavour reviews (read those here). But for daily driving? The Blaze is my new ride.
So if you’re in the market for a new dual coil RDA that delivers top-tier flavour, smooth airflow, and a build deck designed for real-world use, the Blaze RDA is it. Go grab one, and thank me later.

Until next time, stay cloudy. And remember — if I’m not complaining, something’s very, very suspicious.
