Or you could let it steep for 3 months...

Few months ago, I made a handful of 20 ml bottles of juice. Varying degrees of Nic, all 50/50 VG/PG for pods. Let 'em all steep for 2 weeks and SHIT! As usual, coughed up a lung.

Tossed the pods of 2 of them, but for some reason I didn't toss one. It's been sitting there for a few months, I saw it and wondered. Taste is week, but I have both lungs. Not even a tickle!

Did I toss the bottles? Of course. Do I know which recipe? Of course not. But... Lesson learned.

I never toss a juice until it’s had at least a month to steep — and even then, I usually forget about one or two and rediscover them when I’m digging through the stash. Sometimes it’s trash, sometimes it’s treasure.

That muted taste you got? If there’s a lot of air in the bottle, the flavour can fade over time. And if you leave it too long, the nic can go south too — get that peppery bite or just straight-up go bad.

Moral of the story: steep, don’t sleep… but also don’t toss until you’re sure. Your lungs (and tastebuds) might thank you later.

Hmmm. It's a 120 ml bottle with only 20 ml in it, so of course it's mostly air... I think the muted flavor is because I used very little flavoring to begin with. Probably 6% or less than what we've talked about recently.

NO idea which recipe it was.

Ah, the eternal question — “why can’t I just shake and vape everything?”

Some flavours do work straight away (mainly bright fruits and mints), but creams, custards, bakeries, and tobaccos need time. It’s not about being fancy, it’s about chemistry. Flavours, PG/VG, and nicotine need a bit of time to mingle, smooth out, and develop their full profile. Without steeping, you often get sharp notes, chemical edges, or flavours that feel hollow.

Think of it like cooking: you can eat a stew the second it’s done, but leave it overnight and suddenly it’s rich, balanced, and twice as good. Same thing here.

I’ve broken down exactly why steeping matters (and which flavours really need it) in this blog:

And if you want the full crash course, check out the main blog section:

Read through those and you’ll save yourself weeks of frustration and wasted concentrate.

I want to make juice that I can vape as soon as it it mixed
[smention u=59]Old Goat[/smention] Aren't there some fruity flavors you can hit immediately? Shake and Vape?

When do I get to start answering questions? I know "stuff". Dry hits, burnt coils. I'll have you sucking on those Stinky's again faster than you can say Hi!

Skip the fruit then and head straight for the nut jar. Peanut butter, hazelnut, even a touch of almond — they’ll give you that dessert vibe without needing a three-month nap. Most of them are tasty right off the shake, so you can mix, drip, and graze straight away. 🐐
