Requiem RBA (Limited Edition Gold Black) Review

The “Best Atomizer of 2025” Meets an Old Goat Boro Virgin

Hey folks! Your Old Goat here, and today’s tale is equal parts admiration, frustration, and stubborn determination. I’ve been circling the boro world for a while, snorting and pawing at the dirt, but I finally dove in headfirst with the atomizer that’s been making waves across the vapeverse: the Requiem RBA by El Mono Vapeador and ThunderCloud Creations — the one crowned Best Atomizer of 2025 at the World Vape Expo.

And wouldn’t you know it, I managed to get my hooves on the Limited Edition Gold Black version. Let’s just say, if looks could vape, this thing would be blowing clouds straight from the Louvre.

First Impressions: A Masterpiece in a Metal Tin

Unboxing this RBA is like opening a miniature treasure chest. The classy metal case sets the tone immediately — no cheap cardboard sleeve or crumpled plastic here. Inside? You’re greeted with a beautifully laid-out toolkit that screams premium. Not just the RBA, but everything a coiler needs: airflow pins (bottom and side), fused Claptons, screwdriver, coil leg trimmer, spare bits, and more. It’s a complete builder’s starter pack, minus the unicorn blood.

The Gold Black finish is drop-dead gorgeous. Seriously, this thing could moonlight as jewelry. The tribal design around the base adds just the right amount of attitude. It's Spanish design flair through and through — elegant, bold, unapologetically proud.

Specs and Promises

This isn’t just a pretty face. The Requiem RBA is packed with features that aim to justify its award-winning reputation:

16.5 × 25.5 × 39.5 mm (fits most boro devices comfortably)

SS & PCTG construction — tough and classy

6ml juice capacity — generous for a boro

Dual refill system — front or side fill? Your call

Full airflow pin set — from Φ4.0mm chug life to a tight Φ1.0mm MTL pull

Single coil deck — clean, simple, and smartly engineered

In theory, it’s the perfect mix of form and function. In practice? Well, let’s talk about that.

The Boro Virgin’s Struggle: When Wicking Becomes a War

Let me just say this: if you’ve never used a boro tank before, this ain’t the kiddie pool. It’s more like being thrown off a cliff into a beautiful, turbulent sea of potential flavour.

I watched El Mono Vapeador’s wicking tutorial three times. I followed it to the letter. I used decent cotton, spaced my legs properly, fluffed, combed, and trimmed like a goat preparing for show season.
Still leaked.

So I added more cotton. Tucked it a little deeper.
Still leaked.

Then I added even more cotton.
Dry hits. The kind that make you question every life decision that brought you to this moment.

Now, this isn't necessarily a flaw in the Requiem — it’s a reality of precision boro wicking. There’s no margin for error. Too little and you’re swimming. Too much and you’re chewing on charred cotton.

But here’s where the tale turns.

The Right Coil Changes Everything

After enough punishment, I did what I probably should’ve done from the start: I tossed the included coils and installed one of my own Old Goat Alien Coils — and boom, it was a different atomizer entirely.
No dry hits. No leaks. Just pure flavour.

It's amazing what the right build can do. With proper spacing, solid wicking, and a coil that actually wants to work with the tank, the Requiem transforms from frustrating diva to flavour-blasting goddess.

When It Works… It Sings

And here’s the kicker: when you do get the wicking close to right — when that airflow pin marries your coil just right, and the cotton stops crying — it’s phenomenal.

Flavour? Top tier. Fruity profiles, in particular, shine in the Requiem. Bright berries, citrus, and tropical blends pop with clarity and vibrancy.
Creams and bakeries? They’re good, but this RBA definitely leans toward fruit-forward recipes.

Draw? Silky smooth. Whether you like it tight or airy, there’s a pin for you.

Build deck? User-friendly. Enough space, no fiddly traps, and solid screws.

Dual fill system? Huge win. No more popping panels just to top up.

It’s the kind of vape that makes you want to get it right — even if it takes ten rewick attempts and a full roll of cotton.

Pros & Cons (Straight from the Goat’s Mouth)

🟢 Pros:

🐐 Looks Absolutely Stunning: Gold Black finish is premium eye candy.

🧰 Complete Kit: Comes with everything you need to build and tweak.

🌬️ Versatile Airflow System: Bottom and side pins let you dial in the perfect draw.

🛠️ Solid Build Deck: Easy to build, especially with the right coil.

🧃 6ml Capacity + Dual Fill: Vape longer, fill easier.

🎯 Precision Machining: No wonky threads or misaligned pins here.

🔥 Exceptional Flavour — Especially With Fruity Blends: This thing loves a good fruit mix.

🔴 Cons:

🐐 Leaking for Newbies: Not beginner-friendly in the wicking department.

😤 Wicking Tolerance is Razor Thin: No forgiveness — you will learn, or you will leak.

🧪 Steep Learning Curve for Boro Virgins: If this is your first, expect some trial by juice.

Final Thoughts: Not Just a Vape – A Vaping Rite of Passage

The Requiem RBA is many things: beautiful, well-built, thoughtfully designed… and utterly unforgiving if you don’t wick it just right. But you know what? I respect that.

It’s like an old master teaching a young apprentice. It doesn’t coddle you, but if you stick with it, it will make you better.

If you’re new to boro tanks, don’t let this be your first without some patience and perseverance. But if you’re ready for a challenge with the reward of stellar flavour — especially if you lean toward fruit profiles — this might just become your favourite atomizer.

As for me, I’ve officially bonded with my Requiem. It gave me hell, but now it gives me heaven.
Shout out to Alien Coils. Accept no substitutes.

Got Requiem wicking tips? Drop them in the comments — this Old Goat still believes every vape is a learning curve.
